Tori sat alone spacing out while staring at the sea un front of him. The area surrounding him was covered in large rocks. The area was very secluded, keeping tourists and even the islanders away. He sat upon a large rock that appeared to sit on a small hill, his back was facing a mild cliff. He was tired; So tired that he wasn't thinking correctly. Placid had been sparring with him daily to prepare for the 'Chasm'.
Placid had started calling it that for some time now, reffering it as a calamity only Tori could truly stop. This made things even tougher; he was trying so hard to make sure he kept his friends safe he had forgotton about the entire islands populace. Even more so than that, the entire planet...
Tori looked up at the sky and a tear shed. Not for him being sad or upset, but he felt he needed some tears to flow. He felt a bit lost, not sure how to handle being the savior of all men. Seemed rather large for some pathetic angel with a few good abilities. His eyes looked empty, as if he wasn't awake at all. He reached out, his hand trying to touch the sun. He grunted before collapsing backward onto the rocky cliff. He gasped for a puff of air before falling asleep.
-----
Placid looked sickly, as did Tori at this point. He pushed Tori to his limits while even pushing his own, this made Nocturne silent mostly. Placid figured it was fear, but, at the same time it could be him observing the state of Placid's willpower. One couldn't quite tell, but, for now the week came and went. Now, the week all Females on the Island look forward to the most was here. The week long festival celebrates Saint Whites Day, however on the Island of Niharuka, there is a tradition for those who have large amounts of affection. During the weeklong Festival, which has food, games, and parties; One can give his or her secret admirer clues. Each clue has a specific value to who that person could be. Each day, a new clue is given then on St. Whites Day, the secret admirer reveal themselves to the admired.
Most girls swoon this day due to the romance of it all. But, this year seemed different. They swooned only one guy, however they were all bummed, since his relationship with Nuriko was so great. Most ignored it however and did the usual note-writing and poem creation.
Tori and Placid both forgot the week had even been coming up at all. They had been working day after day. Beating the living hell out of one another until they bruised something to the breaking point. They didn't worry about anything else the past week... Until now that is. Placid rose his head from the sand while Tori jumped up in immense fear. Both looked overly nervouse before Tori cried out in shame.
"I forgot about St. Whites Day!"

Nuriko and Mihari had spend alot of time at the beach this past week. They had no idea that farther down Placid and Tori were beating the crap out of eachother. They come to the conclusion that worrying about what was coming would just cause them unneeded stress, and they were under enough as it is. Last thing they needed right now was to go into premature labor. Unfortunately, as Nuriko often stated while laughing, the world wouldn't stop because she was carrying.
Nuriko and Mihari walked along the beach. Nuriko had managed to pay for the repairs to the hospital, and get Mihari out of the hospital as well. Mihari didn't ask how. She wasn't sure if she wanted to know. They stopped and looked out into the sunset, trying to relax as much as possible, given the circumstances. They were both showing quite a bit, though Mihari looked considerably bigger than Nuriko did. Nuriko took off her sandals, dropping them into the sand before walking into the water. She closed her eyes, smiling as she felt the water rushing against her legs and the wind blowing into them. Mihari grinned, laughing as she thought of something.
"What's the chance that Tori will remember White day?" Mihari asked. She didn't even consider Placid, he hasn't really spent enough time around here to know about white day, let alone care about it at all, or so she thought. Nuriko laughed. "He's got alot on his mind. I'll be surprised if he remembers it at all." she said, looking up into the sunset again.
Mihari sat down in the sand, watching Nuriko play in the water. The children had been quite active lately, which was partially a good thing. At least she knew they were healthy, but it was also slightly painful to her. She sighed as she gazed down the beach.

Tori sat with a very upset look on his face. The bags under his eyes were as dark as the bruises all over him. He groaned leaning himself into an upright position then sighing. "Im so beat..." he said realizing that this holiday could have some significant meaning to Nuriko. He looked into the water and smiled, blinking slowly, then standing up and walking a bit down the beach to see Placid there. He too looked tired, however he could mask it very well. Tori sat next to him and collapsed. "Placid..." he said looking at the clouds above. The air got cold, with it a single snowflake fell.
Placid looked back at Tori and listened, quite surprised to hear what he was gonna say. "Placid I gave you so much grief over this time... But, now..." he said it then rose up looking him in the eye then patting him on the back. "It realized you, of all people, are my best friend..." he said it then looked down to barely see Kibiko's house. From where they sat it was but a shack in size, horribly small. Placid smiled for the first time to Tori. Not because he didn't like him, because he hadn't a reason to smile.
He placed his hand out and Tori gripped it. Placid nodded and Tori returned the favor, they stood up and walked down the beach to see the girls there. Mihari in the sand and Nuri in the water. Tori rushed over to Nuri taking his coat off, "Hey, its to cold for that... C'mon, lets go see if we can warm you guys up eh?" he said leading her to Kibiko's house, which at this point was becoming more sizable. He walked up knocking on the door to have Mio answer it. She was wrapped in a blanket and her face was pale.
"Oh no... Please you musn't come here... I don't want to hurt the babies...!" she said covering her face with a tissue. "I have the flu..." she said coughing a horrid cough. Kibiko came out of the kitchen and smacked her lightly. "Hey! Go lay down! Your sick remember? I'll take care of everyone, just go relax..." she said ending it with a calm, sisterly, twist to it. Mio laid upon the couch then coughed again. Kibiko looked at the group and sighed.
"I am sorry guys but I really don't want the babies to get harmed because of this bug she has..." she looked over at Mio who was shaking badly and moaning a bit. SHe was sweating even though she was freezing cold. Tori nodded then placed a hand on Kibiko's shoulder, "Keep her same Chibi..." he said waving good-bye. Placid had caught up with them then led the group to Nuriko's house. He waled to the door and help the two girls up the stairs. Upon him doing so, his sleeve shifted and showed large blue and black bruises. He gasped and hid them from sight. Worried that he might upset the two if they found out what him and Tori had been up to. He looked away then led the group to the door.
"We need to talk... all of us." Tori said once he opened the door. He led them to the living area, and started a fire in the small fireplace there. He and Placid stood side by side, Placid removed his coat. Reviling his severely bruised arms and cuts and countless scrapes. Tori's arms were the same way, Tori took his shirt off and sat there with his eyes closed and held his arms out, Placid did the same and they stood there feeling ashamed.
"We have been fighting one another for the past week..." Tori said, Placid jumped realizing it sounded like a fued instead of Sparing. "He means... Sparring..." he said putting his shirt back on. "We have been... training ourselves to the max..." he said sitting down and slumping over. Tori did the same, "We pushed ourselves to try and bring the 3rd Type of Parshath..." he cringed a bit in pain holding his chest, he took a deep breath then continued. "We tried and tried but have had no luck what so ever..."
Placid nodded looking like someone he was close to had died. "I apologize to you both greatly..." he said closing his eyes and lowering his head. "We wish not to harm you or your feelings... But, we must do this..." he said it then opened his eyes looking serious. "We must do it for the fate of this world..." he stood up and warmed his hands by the fire before sitting back down and moving on. "This week is Saint Whites week..." he said smiling a bit, "I planned a special trip for you and I..." he said looking at Mihari. He looked at Nuri and spoke again, "Tori never mentioned what he was doing for you though... What are you doing T-" he had looked over to see Tori out cold. He had been asleep since he sat down and that didn't surprise Placid at all. Although, he was worried if he was aware of this holiday, but, he will find out either the easy way, which is on his own; or the hard way, which is getting hit by Nuriko or getting mauled by fan girls...
Placid face palmed before looking at his idiot best friend then smiled. "You know... After these few months... You are my best friend too... You damn idiot..." he chuckled before drifting himself off as well.
----
Kibiko held Mio tight, she couldn't stop shivering. "C'mon beautiful... Try and stay warm..." she held her in the blanket and rubbed it to gain friction. Mio had eaten some soup before throwing it up soon after. Kibiko was worried, the doctors said she had the flu, but, what if it didn't get any better? The drugs they prescribed weren't taking effect at all since she had been taking them. Shun hadn't been a big help either. In fact, now it seemed like he was hardly ever home. She knew he was avoiding her and her friends, and that was clear... She got up and grabbed a small electric heater, plugged it in nearby and switched it on.
"There, maybe that will help..." She said holding Mio again. Mio's eyes began to tear up and she started to sob. "I feel horrible..." she said sobbibng, "I..." she said going limp, "I don't know whats... wrong..." she grabbed a trash can nearby and unloaded into it before laying in Kibiko's lap. "Im scared Chibi..." she said sobbing softly, Kibiko shushed her. She rubbed her head to calm her, which seemed to have work since now Mio was asleep.
Kibiko's eyes teared up as well. "I know you are strong... I know it hurts... But, I know whatever this is you can beat it..." she laid back and sighed. Knowing that everything that was going on around her and her friends was taking a toll on Mio. Not just Mio, but her as well. It caused a tear to form and it rolled down her cheek. "This sucks..." she said wiping it away, "Compared to Nuriko and everyone else... We are completely useless..."
She held Mio tight, like she was shielding her. Mio jumped a bit and awoke. "Chibi..." she said sighing, "I feel... a bit better..." she said smiling. Her fever was dying, not fast but fast enough for her to be on her feet again soon. This made Kibiko hug her tight and give her the soup she recently threw up. "I have a new bowl ready for you! Enjoy it!" she said handing her the hot bowl of homeade Miso soup. Mio took it and blew on it a bit and smiled, "I wish I had met you a long time ago Chibi..." she said taking a sip, "You are my best friend... My sister."
Kibiko smiled and nodded. "Your my best friend too beautiful, now, sit there and eat. I am going to step ouot for a sec and go pick up your medication." she walked out the door to see Shun on the front porch. A bottle in his hand and his clothes dirty from rancid water. He smelled of alcohol and mud covered his shoes, he looked up and his face looked ashamed. "I visited him today..." he said, Kibiko looked away and slapped him, "You need to leave... Now!" she said taking the bottle and throwing it far onto the beach. "If this is how you are going to react to whats going to happen... You have no place in my house." she locked the door behind her and walked off leaving him there. He watched as the last person he trusted and could relate to walked off.
"But... Chibi..."
