Nuriko walked along a familiar dirt path through the woods. She had taken this path numerous times over the years for various reasons. She brushed her bangs out of her face and made her way up a hill. She had a bouquet of flowers and a somewhat solemn face as she reached the top. There was a rather familiar clearing, in the center a small gravestone surrounded by flowers. Some had been planted around the grave, and others had just been set there. There was a small cross with a wooden plaque. It read, 'Even though Death was the beginning, you always found faith in her.' She sighed, shaking her head. "Silly... Death is an end, not a beginning. Hence my curse I suppose."
She sighed, kneeling down and setting the bouquet of flowers on the ground in front of the gravestone. "Its kinda sad. After all this time, I don't really know if you liked flowers or not. I usually just assumed you didn't because males." She looked down at the bunch of roses she had set down. "It's been two years..." She sighed. She still had scars from that day, physical and emotional. But she was much calmer than she had been those days. But she had alot of help. "You'll be pleased to know that I'm pretty sure I haven't attempted to kill anyone this year. Or broke anything, including myself. I think it may be a record..." She chuckled a little. "Even if the family is a little awkward now. Your grandson is going to be a handful. And a genius." Nuriko chuckled a little, shaking her head. "I'm horrible at this. But..." She looked off across the small meadow, looking distant for a moment. "I just wanted you to know you're still in everyones heart. And..." She sighs, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I know I say this alot since it happened, but I don't think I'll ever really forgive myself for this. And I am sorry, Tori..."

The day had been a partially cloudy one from the horrid ones that had been in the past. Placid was on a cliff in the woods letting the wind blow him around for some time. He could sense her in the woods, no doubt she was there visiting their spot. He never knew emotion well until he met Tori, but, he always wanted to tell him how much of a friend he truly was. He always knew that Tori was out there somewhere, the guy was too stubborn to really be truly dead. Placid smiled and sighed, "You know, you can always sit next to me. I don't mind." he said as a womanly figure stepped out from the trees. Hana had been watching him for some time, wondering what today held for her.
"So, why did you choose to hide? Is there something wrong?" he said as she sat next to him and adjusting her skirt. She shook her head and looked into the sky and sighed, "No, nothings really wrong. Just... Mom has been coming here more lately. I wonder if she feels guilty for... for dad." she said looking away somewhat sadly. "Your mother holds blame for many things that weren't in her control. It is just how she is, I wouldn't worry too much about the actions. IT's to help her remember the sacrifice he made." he said leaning forward, "It's what helps her guilt more than anything."
The breeze in the evening sky blew again making Hana brush her hair aside. "Placid... Why does she do that?" she asked. "Do what?" "You know... Blame herself?" she looked at him and gave him a look of desirable hope. He looked into the horizon, looking deep at the ocean. "That isn't a question for me to answer. You need to ask that to her. Really." he said it, almost sounding cold. "GO on, you know where she is. Leave me out of this one. I'd rather not be in the hell that is your mother in a bad mood..." he said jokingly. She sighed, standing up and making her way to the gravesite.
Minutes had passed before reaching the clearing her mother was at. The breeze and colors of the sky made the area glow with a beautiful shade of orange, making it a dream to be seen. She stepped forward near her mother, looking at the flowers she had brought for her father.
"Y-Y'know... I think dad would have liked those. He would have made a cheesy pick-up line and... probably put on in your hair or something..."

Nuriko twitched slightly as she listened to her daughters words. She sighed softly, not looking at her, just gazing down at Tori's grave.
"Probably. He was a hopeless romantic. I remember when we went to high school together, before he got his memories back. He chased me around like a lost puppy, and the girls hated it. But he was always such a sap when it came to women. He was genuinely a gentleman to every girl he met in school." She smiled softly as she glanced over to her daughter. "You have your fathers eyes. Never really noticed it too much until now." She smiled sadly, and reached out to wrap her arm around Hana softly. "I know I can be a bit hard to deal with. I always was, thats why my mother never really liked me too much. My brother could do no wrong. It's probably a good thing that you three inherited your patience and understanding from him." Nuriko smiled and looked around for a moment. That was when she heard thanatos. 'Wanna see something interesting?'
Nuriko sighed, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. When she opened her eyes, they had brightened to a misty silverish-white, which generally meant she was seeing through thanatos. Her voice caught in her throat as she stopped, staring at once spot in particular where the spirit of Tori was watching them.

Hana looked at her mother who appeared to be stuck in a trance. She seemed like she had seen a ghost. "M-Mom?" she said only to get no immediate reply. She looked in the direction of where her mother was looking only to see nothing at all. She took her mothers hand and held it. "What do you... What do you see?" she asked as a breeze blew and a whisper hit her ears. She jumped and looked forward.
"Who... Who is there?"
----------------------
Tori looked at Nuriko and his daughter and a smile grew on his face. "I see you are doing a good job of taking care of her..." he said looking down at Hana holding her mother's hand. "You know, she did always like having me around, even though I wasn't the best of role models." he said chuckling, "But, you know she always told me she wanted to learn so much from you. She wanted you to like her. It was cute, really." he turned around to face th meadow and gazed at it. "Though, even though I knew you loved her, she never knew how much she truly meant to you." the breeze blew the flowers around, almost makign them dance. "I think you two should really tell one another how you really feel before you lose the chance. I know I did..." he said thinking about his own mother and her situation. He stood silently before turning back to Nuriko looking into her eyes. "I love you Nuri. But, you can't hold onto me forever. You know that." he said smiling sadly. He started to fade quietly, and he shut his eyes. "We will see eachother again, I am sure of it..." The fade grew until it began to hit his face.
"Oh... and yes. I do love the flowers..." and with that, he was gone. The breeze that had been making the meadow dance was now calm and left the flowers still. Whispers passed until the area was silent, making it a quiet haven once more.

Nuriko blinked, tears falling down her cheeks as she took a deep breath. Her eyes faded back to their normal color as she sighed and turned back to her daughter. She looked over her for a moment. 'He makes it sound so easy...' She thought to herself as she glanced over her daughter for a moment. "I need to stop running from my family. Need to reconnect to my kids. You in particular. I never really had issues with Kazuma, but I guess he was so much like his father that I never really needed to try. And you reminded me so much of me as a child." She brushed a finger over her daughters cheek. "You have the blessing and the curse of being alot like your mother. I just need to stop running from myself..."

Hana teared up, she was confused at what she was hearing from her mother. The one that was supposed to be her mentor. "Mom..." she said grabbing her mother's hand then leaning forward and hugging her. "I don't know what you are talking about but I... I have wanted you to say that for a long time. I love you!" she said holding her mother tightly. While they did this, Placid sat on the cliff and a breeze blew by him and he smiled softly.
"You are such a blowhard..." he said before standing up and making his way into the woods. He managed to reach the meadow where the two women were and stopped. He watched over them while leaning on a tree nearby, pay respects to his friends.
"You know, after everything that has happened, I think things will be okay. One can hope for that, anyways."
