'How can one man, or angel in this case, manage to stop something that is capable of destroying the very fabric of life itself in the blink of an eye...? How can a being with so much power be stopped?"
Nightfall brought the sounds of crickets and peaceful sounds of waves on the island. Inside the volcanic cave, Diabound sat with his back facing his family as he studied his notes. This being that now calls himself 'War' wasn't anything like it was before. Now, it is rather calm and even able to be reasoned and spoken to. He shuffled through and through coming across no notes of this being the case when Kaiden had held him during the Horsemen project. At this point, it was new territory for him. He sighed as he removed his glassed and squeezed the corners of his eyes. The lack of sleep was getting to him, but, deep down he felt that something about this new being wasn't all he was showing. What was he hiding from all of them? Was he really a new person after all of that?
"How can something so drastic happen with such little notice...?" he said to himself as he replaced his glasses on his face. He thought about how the beings that stood before acted compared to one another. Hana had visited the cave more to discuss things with him and his family. Not to mention Khirai and Akira seemed to get along well enough, so, it was also part play-date. She told him what she had seen during those moment when the being shifted from natural psychopathic killer to how he is now. He thought about it, and nothing made sense about where the old entity went.
"Something like that just doesn't vanish..." he said shutting his eyes again. "But, if it isn't gone and he didn't destroy it... Where is it?"
Some books sounded as they tumbled to the floor. Willow had stumbled over them as she was dazed from her nights sleep. She sighed, stacking the books neatly back where they had been sitting. Diabound turned to see her being inattentive due to her waking up prematurely. He sighed and looked at her, watching her as she stacked the books. After a few moments, he stood up and became concerned.
"...I may know now, where he went."

"This realm... it smells of pure poison..." Nocturne said looking around inside Paradox. The land that existed in this realm was disgusting, swamp like in nature and foul. He stood on a torn down building, perhaps one his counterpart built long ago. His stepped inside and he shuddered. He looked at his hand, and sighed. A mark, a brand that bounded him to Kaiden began to show. He stared at it and before long, it began to shift forms. He watched as it slighty formed into something slighty different.
"I need... to die soon..." he said waving his hand, tearing open a portal. He stepped through it to end up on the beach closest to the volcano. The sound of the waves was calming, but, not helping in his predicament. He felt like he was being watched, and within moments a voice rang.
"Hana said you liked coming to this spot..." the voice said. Nocturne turned to see Kaiden walking up next to him, looking out over the sea. "You can't hide it from anyone you know..." he said looking rather sad. Nocturne looked at him and then shut his eyes.
"I have no idea what you are talking about." he said taking a deep breath. Kaiden's look became a bit more upset, then he shook his head.
"You think we are all morons? Nuriko can most likely smell it from home. I know she can sense it... if I can." he said looking up at Nocturne. "You don't really want to die. Do you?"
"Watch where you start to tread boy..." he said looking rather angry now.
"Or what? Just be honest. You don't have to die to solve the problem! Why do you think that more death will solve anything?" Kaiden said turning to Nocturne. Nocturne stayed silent and opened his eyes. Tears ran down his face, and pelted the sand below. "I want this all to be over..." he said falling backwards and sitting in the sand.
"The day I was issued to you, I chose you because of that fire in your heart. To prove to your father you were worth something. But, when Placid was created... your fire became black... That anger, sorrow, and pain built up..." he said looking down in shame. "I tried to control it, bottle it up for you. But, like any bottle under pressure, I cracked. That black part of your soul bled into me. Now I sit before you wanting death because I failed you."
Kaiden looked down at him, and with complete lack of care, fell on his butt next to him.
"You didn't fail... You got rid of that thing. You are here now, with me. You want death when it isn't necessary. What happened wasn't your fault, it was mine. I let my emotions get out of control rather than stepping forward to my father. You didn't kill anyone, I did. Nobody can blame you anymore..." he said placing his hand on Nocturnes shoulder.
"Please... Won't you reconsider? You have a perfect place..." he said tapping his chest, smiling with tears running down his face. "It's right here, where you should belong!"
As he said that a glow appeared behind Nocturne several feet away. The glow came from Placid, who was standing in front of Diabound.
"Kaiden, move." he said as Nocturne stood up and faced them. Diabound looked at Nocturne and folded his arms.
"May I ask you a simple question?" he said looking sternly at Nocturne, "Where is that black part of you? Where did you put it?!"
Nocturne looked them in the eyes and sighed, he held out his hand. The symbol showed, but, now it was slightly darker and again changed shape. Diabound looked at the symbol and grew angry.
"You have been lying to us all this whole time! You didn't cleanse that thing, you locked him inside!" he said as Placid held his hand up. The gesture silenced his father.
"When Diabound came to get me, I figured he was suffering from lack of sleep. But, the more I think about this and the more I realize it... I know exactly what you had planned."
Nocturne grunted and stepped backward. He was caught, and his plan was faulted. Placid's face grew angry, and his hand started to dim slightly.
"You hid him, so you could release him and have that thing fight for you! While taking the blows as well until you both were slain!" he said looking Nocturne dead in the eyes. Nocturne looked down in shame, knowing there wasn't anything he could do now but be honest.
"Yes... That is what I had in mind..." he said looking back up at Placid in shame. "I don't want anymore people to die because of it... because of me. If I can control him just enough, I can ma-...!"
"ENOUGH!" Placid shouted, "That thing is NOT able to be controlled! What part of the countless years we all spent being locked away because of that do you not comprehend?! That thing that is inside you isn't anything but pure CHAOS!" he shouted as Diabound stepped forward.
"You want to endanger more people by letting him loose... Just to use him as a meat shield until the very end? Why?" he said folding his arms. Nocturne looked at him and shook his head.
"I figured if I did that, I could ensure that monstrosity died with me... Giving you and everyone else here... peace." he said. He looked at Placid and Placid returned the look. After a few moments of silence, Placid could see the emotions Nocturne could feel. He wasn't lying now, he was being honest.
"I know you want him gone, even at the cost of your own life. But, if we release him we may not be able to control him. If that happens, then that is when the whole plain of existence is lost. Is that what you are willing to risk to die?" he said looking at Nocturne.
Nocturne shifted and sighed, knowing that was a very imbalanced trade. Either 2 beings die, or all life as they know it. Nocturne lowered his head and sighed, looking back at Placid with a look of determination. He stood straight, summoning his blade and placing it in the sand and kneeling.
"I am willing to risk it... because I know you all can stop him! I have faith in you all that we will both die and rid this place of our terror!"
Placid lowered his hands and then looked at Diabound. Diabound sighed, and shook his head. He turned around and walked away and spoke up, leaving them with a shred of hope.
"Ill figure something out. In the meantime... Stay alert..." and with that he walked out of sight, leaving the group there. Placid walked off too, and turned back to Kaiden. "I will see you around, go home and get sleep... It's late." he said turning back around, heading toward the apartments. Kaiden looked at Nocturne and sighed. He smiled softly and hugged him.
"I know it is hard, but, just wait a bit longer ok?" he said letting go and running off as quickly as he could. After he left Nocturnes line of sight, Nocturne collapsed, gripping his arm. He looked at the symbol and watched as is formed into what looked final. The marking of that being inside him, the Mark of Chaos. He grunted in pain, and looked up at the sky.
"Please... I don't know how much time I... have left!"
------------------------------------------------------------
Kaiden reached the front door of the manor and stared at the handle. He wasn't sure what to do, should he tell Nuriko? If he did, how would that effect things? He sighed, then hearing the knob click. He jumped as the door opened, Tori on the other side. He rose an eyebrow, then stepped outside.
"Hey, Kaiden..." he said folding his arms. "Why are you out so late?" Kaiden looked him in the eyes, at that moment he couldn't hold it back. Tears, rand down his face. Tori looked at him in surprise, "Hey... Kaiden..." he said sighing, "Talk to me, what can I do to help?" he asked causing Kaiden to look up at him, Kaiden wiped the tears away. He led Tori away from the house. Outside of Nuriko's area of hearing. Hopefully.
"I found out something..." he began. Tori listened to all of what had happened, then shook his head as Kaiden concluded his story. "That... is alot to breath in. What... what do we do?" he asked, Kaiden sighed. "My father didn't have any immediate responses. But, he is looking into it." he looked to the Manor and gulped.
"How do we tell... Nuriko?" he asked. Tori looked to the Manor and walked toward it. "With the truth." he said walking inside. Once inside he made his way into the den, where his family was all gathered. Kaiden looked at them all, then looked at Nuriko, trying not to be afraid of her reaction. He sighed, speaking rather quietly.
"Guys, we need to talk..."
