Nuriko could feel it. She knew what was happening, as she had a feeling it was going to happen soon, just not this soon. She sighed, sadly standing up to put the baby in her crib before heading into the main room where Mihari and Placid were.
Mihari didn't know what to say. She was so happy before, now it seemed like all the happiness that was in her had drained away. She sat there, staring at Placid, who seemed nearly lifeless, if not entirely lifeless. She couldn't tell. She wasn't sure if she wanted to.
"No... All that work, and I end up losing you anyways?" she looked down at the ground, tears falling down her cheek as she cried. She didn't even try to hide them, there was no point. She sat there with her head in her hands, crying. She didn't even notice as Nuriko came into the room and sat next to her, looking down sadly at Placid, yet she had a look on her face that clearly said she knew what was going on, but felt guilty because there was nothing she could do.

Belmonte had played a bit more for Mio and Kibiko. Getting the hang of learning the Piano was something he found easy. After playing a few more songs the girls clapped before Belmonte started again, he played for a bit before stopping. His eyes watered and the drops hit the keys. He slumped over and Mio ran to his side. "What's wrong? Belmonte? Whats wrong?" she said as he felt sick.
"He's gone..."
--------------
Tori walked upstairs until he hit the room where Mihari and Placid had been. He stood in the doorway silent, he looked mad. Not quite sure why he felt angry but he looked at the body of his best friend, and without hesitation he sighed. The body glew for a bit before angelic whispers were heard. The body dissipated into a large glow and orbs of light followed before disappearing. Tori sat in the doorway, heart broken for the girl who wast sitting before him in shock and confusion.
"This was... Inevitable..." he said walking into the room and sat next to her and held her. "This was going to happen... We all discussed it with him... We..." he held her tight while tearing up. "He knew and wanted nobody to worry... mostly you."
He sat there trying to explain but couldn't find words to explain anything. All he could think was how she felt, the boy they tried so hard to save was just going to die anyways. The half he had was broken to the point of passing. Nothing could have saved him. All he wanted was salvation and peace, even though he knew he wouldn't ever get it with all of the ties in the world he had entered. He left Mihari alone... His children... They are now as broken as him.
"What the hell am I supposed to say...?! Why did you let us do this...?!"

Mihari continued crying, leaning her head on Tori's chest as he held her. But as he tried to explain what had happened, it just made her even more confused, and slightly frustrated.
"Did he think I couldn't handle it?" she said softly in between sobs. "I mean, I'm a strong girl, at least if it had been explained to me earlier, I might have been able to cope with it. But I was left out!" she kept crying, gripping her hands on Tori's shirt as she poured out her frustrations, still crying what felt like her soul out. She felt as empty as he looked. "Why couldn't he just tell me..."
Time seemed to stop for her. She felt like she was missing the most important part of her. He was everything to her. He was the reason she was alive. Him dying made her life feel pointless. She sat in that spot for what seemed like a few hours to her, but around her it had been a few days, maybe longer. Nuriko had decided to take care of the twins until Mihari snapped out of it, but she refused to intervene. Something about Mihari having to find the will to live on her own. Mihari barely heard anything going on around her. Bits and pieces of conversation around her. She never moved from her spot, still staring at the place where Placid had been a few days ago.
She was barely even aware of the fact that she had gotten up late one night a few days after Placid had left her. It was almost like she was in a dream. She slowly, as if in a daze, made her way to her temple. She stumbled into the main room in the temple, which hadn't been touched since the fight with Nocturne, was starting to look almost abandoned. It was dark, gloomy, and had bits and pieces of wood cluttered around, as if the fight with nocturne had dislodged some of the wood from the ceiling. She made her way without even realizing it to the shrine in the main room of the temple. The same shrine where she had first met him. Where he had cured her sickness. Where she had fallen for him in the first place. She fell to her knees, leaning her back on the shrine and bringing her knees up to her chest, resting her head on her knees. She was starting to get cold, but didn't care. She closed her eyes, resting the back of her head on the shrine.

Tori had followed Mihari to the shrine, keeping his distance. He watched and felt overly saddened by what he saw. She looked like a lost puppy with no master. It was pissing him off, not because she was like that, but because there was nothing he could do about it. he walked inside to where she was and sat next to her, he stayed silent as she and him sat side by side.
"He told me why he did it..." he said trying not to choke, "He didn't want to see you like this..." He stopped and wiped a tear away. "Im sorry, we were all foolish enough to believe you wouldn't be able to handle it..."
He hugged her and stood walking off. He stopped at the door and slammed his fist into it before running out in a blind rage. No clue as to where he was headed he finally stopped. He fell to his knees huffing and gritting his teeth. He had ended up at Angel Falls, where he began his life in Niharuka. It was beautiful at night. The moon overhead with a brilliant set of stars to match. he walked to the waters edge and stood looking into the reflection. As he stared the water rippled, forming a vision of a man.
"Tori, my son..." the man said smiling. "My you look mature..." The man had a small beard. It was all Brown and his eyes were too to mach. "Son, why have you the sad look hm?" he said as Tori sat down looking away. "I can't really say..." Tori said sighing, "I don't even know whats going on anymore father..."
Grand nodded, "Son, there are times in which guidance is wanted but not given... However, now isn't that time. Tell me, what is troubling you... Perhaps I can help." he said as Tori was beginning to speak another voice was heard. It was Placid, "Or at least I can."
Tori jumped and looked into the water to see Grand and Placid next to one another. "Placid here is under temporary Arrest. We are insuring he won't have another mishap. But, he also has to pay a small price for letting Nocturne go." Placid nodded, "By releasing him I caused a calamity in the human world. They know this as well as I."
Tori looked confused. "But WE did that! Not you!" he said looking at Grand. Grand nodded in agreement. "We are aware my son, Placid has told us everything. Although it was your doing it was still him we are more concerned about. He will be held here until the higher ups can confirm he is indeed safe from any Nocturne-related problems..."
Tori sat down and sighed, "Im just glad you aren't really gone for good..." he said it with relief and teared up. "You sonofa..." he said wiping the tear away. Grand chuckled and patted Placid on the shoulder, "Ah, thats what you were upset about. Now, don't you worry. Placid is more like a guest than a prisoner per se. I have him under my personal watch at all times. He won't ever be harmed while he is here. Understand son?"
Tori nodded and smiled. "Placid... She misses you." he said referring to his fiance. Placid nodded and sighed, "I know, bring her here tomorrow. I will want to see me and explain everything. Ok?"
Tori nodded and stood up and waved. The water went back into its original form and he chuckled. "Cheating death... Even when you are Death..." he looked into the sky and another tear rolled down his face.
"Stupid bastard!"
-------------------------------------
The next night was quiet. Tori made no mention to anyone of what he saw or what even happened that night. But, he said to everyone they were all going to Angel Falls for something special. He spoke to Mihari directly before hand, hoping she would accept his invitation.
"I really want you to come. I know it must be hard... I can truly understand how you feel. But, please, can you do it for me?"

Nuriko had followed Tori to the temple. As Tori walked out after saying his bit to Mihari, she looked at him, half exasperated, half sad. "You really think she is going to come? She is barely alive at this point. She hasn't eaten or slept in nearly a week. She's all but given up on life, she doesn't even realize whats going on around her most of the time. We would need a miracle to get her to snap out of it. And even if he did come to her senses enough to realize what was going on, she wouldn't have the strength to get all the way to angel falls. You realize this, right?" She felt somewhat bad for how she had said it to Tori, but it wasn't like she had any idea what was going on, she was just as in the dark as everyone else in this. And it wasn't like Tori to be all secretive with her, which irritated her as well. "She should be dead right now. Hell, none of this would have happened if Placid hadn't saved her life. But he gave her a reason to live again, so I understand why she feels this way. Not that it makes it any better, she seems to have completely lost any sense of anything around her; her children, us... " she sounded sad as she finished her sentence. She looked away, looking up at the sky sadly, then sighed.

Tori looked at Nuriko and hugged her. "All you have to do is trust me." He let go and smiled, "I got this, just let me prove it." He walked back inside and sat next to Mihari. He picked her up piggy back style. It almost looked hilarious for Tori to be seen carrying her that way.
"Ok, now, lets go." ----------------------
Grand stood with Placid as Placid looked at the gate between Heaven and Earth. He became a bit worried and it showed in his face. Grand placed his hand on Placid's shoulder and smiled. "You fear she won't understand?" He asked Placid jumping a bit.
"No sir. I am afraid she won't want too...." He said sighing a bit as the gateway activated. They both stepped through and ended up on the shore of the lake that was centered at Angel Falls. Placid stood with his eyes closed. This are felt clean and cleansed, the firat it has been since Nocturne lefr his mind.
"It is all surreal..." Placid said breathing in deeply. "Its all to real..."
-----------
The group arrived at the senic entrance to Angel Falls. Tori was tired, Mihari wasn't heavy. But, Tori felt like he about to collapse from drained energy.
"I kicked Nocturne's ass but THIS makes me tired? How cruel..." He put Mihari down and held her up. He barely looked like he could do so on his own.
"Alright, now, let me show you what I brought you here to see!

Nuriko felt partly guilty about how he had handled it, but she didn't say anything. She followed him quietly as they slowly made their way to Angel Falls. She watched him struggle to carry Mihari. It was almost as if Mihari's current condition was physically draining him. It made her kind of sad to watch it. She stayed close to him, almost as if giving him emotional support and making sure that Mihari didn't fall off. They were getting closer to Angel Falls, the trees were getting alot thicker, but there was a presence she could feel. She didn't know why, but it felt... familiar. When they reached the small lake at Angel Falls, Tori had set her down, but was still struggling to keep her up. She took ahold of Mihari, sitting down with her, because it was alot easier to hold her in a sitting position than it was to keep her standing up. She ran her hand over her head, kissing Mihari's forehead softly before turning. As she looked up, she saw what the familiar presence was, and nodded respectfully.
Mihari was barely Mihari at this point. Everything was blurry to her. Due to lack of food, sleep, and high amounts of stress, she had exhausted her body to the point she couldn't do anything. Even her sight was failing to a point. Everything was blurry, as if she was looking through a dirty window, and it seemed to have lost its color. Occasionally she would get a random thought, but it never made it to the forefront of them. They would get lost in the misery and loneliness that her brain was mostly drowned in at the time. Though she had partially noticed when Tori had came to visit her, mentioning Angel Falls a couple times. But it didn't matter to her. As if a dark curtain had been drawn over her mind, and all she could think about was her loneliness and misery. When he had started carrying her, she wondered what was so important that she had to be there, and partially thought about fighting it... She didn't want anyone seeing her in that state, but she didn't have the physical or mental strength at that time to even consider it. So she sat there watching the darkened world go by, she almost felt like crying. It wasn't until they had set her down that she almost felt a familiar presence in the area. When Nuriko had set her down, facing her toward the lake, she felt her heart aching. She saw, even with her sight partially blurred, the white hair, the red eyes. The tears fell down her cheek, she almost didn't want to believe it.
"M..my...Placid..."

Placid jerked towards the entrance to see his fiance standing with his friends. "Mihari..." he said running towards them. He was then stopped by a punch to the face by Tori, "NOW!" he said looking overly pissed off. "You need to fix the issues that we had to deal with!" he said picking Placid up and smiling. They both nodded and smiled at one another as Placid grabbed Mihari and held her tight.
"I am sorry... Sorry for letting go without truly telling you what was going to happen..." he said holding her tight. "I am so sorry... For leaving you."
Grand walked forward and shook Tori's hand. "It has been a long time seeing you face to face my son..." he said it with great pride. "You have become all mighty haha..."
The group around him seemed a bit uneasy. Kibiko and Mio looked at him and seemed a bit distant and untrusting. Grand looked around at the unsettling eyes and sighed. "I suppose I am not well liked around here..." he said nervously. Tori sighed and nodded, "Yeah, they haven't heard nice things about the Guardians..."
Grand looked behind him and saw Nuriko, with her was her and Tori's child, Hana. "My, how beautiful..." Grand said smiling. He looked up at Nuriko and nodded with his eyes closed. "I see..." he said smiling and turning around. "Miss Tsukina..." he said opening his eyes. "You have become a mother to my sons child..." he roared in laughter. "Now, that can only mean one thing... I hearby grant you freedom from the shackles that have wieghed you I am sure."
Tori looked at him in shock and smiled, "Wait, you mean she isno longer going to be attacked or hunted? She can live with ease?!" he said it all in excitement and became overflowed with great happiness. Grand nodded and walked towards her and looked at Hana and smiled. "She looks like you Miss Tsukina..." he said kissing Hana's forhead.
Placid had let go and kissed Mihari and took her hand. "Can you forgive me...?

Before Placid had reached Mihari, she sighed, then made a slow attempt at standing on her own. It was taking alot of concentration and willpower, something she had forgotten she had until now. Now the only thing she was fighting was lack of energy due to no food or sleep for the last week. She had a bit of Nuriko's help, who was helping her up while carrying little Hana in her other arm. Mihari straightened up just as Placid had finished talking to Tori and reached her. She blinked, gasping a little as he held her tight. She started crying a little, using him as support to help her stand while she cried into his shirt. She held herself close to him, listening to him, soaking in his voice as if it was going to be the last time she would ever hear it. When he pulled away and kissed her, she leaned into it, kissing him deeper than she could ever remember kissing him before. When he withdrew and asked her forgiveness, she looked at him for a second. "I was never mad at you. Just very confused..."
Nuriko watched everyone, feeling slightly odd. She hadn't seen Tori's father in years. But she smiled at him as they met eyes, bowing respectfully. But she wasn't expecting what she heard. She bowed again, remaining quiet. Not that she didn't appreciate it, but she had been used to living that way for so long. It was another adjustment she would have to get used to. She thought it was cute how excited Tori got for her. She smiled.

Grand looked at the eys again with a bit more relief. The group had done the same it seemed, "The chase was not my order. I am sure you are aware of that..." Grand said bowing to her as well. Tori looked at Mihari and Placid and smiled. Nothing made him happier than to see everyone else happy. That was something he never quite understood about himself, the way he put forth more effort to help others than himself. He knew that is wasn't something to question as a bad thing. Oh no; this was one thing he had that was of a pure nature.
He looked at Nuriko and she was smiling yet silent. He knew why and understood completely. Her war with the constant persuits were over. Hiding was no longer an option and she was free. He hugged her tight from behind while Grand walked toward the water. The water glew for a bit until a face formed, this time it was a man with long grey hair and blue eyes. "Sir, time is almost up. I would reccomend coming back before they force you back..." he said kind of tense. Grand sighed at the news and nodded. "We will be back shortly Kuri... No need for the alarm." Grand spoke but it sounded disdainful. He turned and saw the group as happy as could be but couldn't help but feel responsible for it not going back that way after what he was about to do.
"Ok... You all need to hear this. Placid and I must depart. He will not be able to return to this place for a few years..." Grand said looking down a bit. Tori walked over to him and patted his shoulder. "Father, its okay. This is what gave Mihari what she really needed. Hope." he said as the girls smiled at Tori. Kibiko and Mio both were happily aware that now Mihari might be a bit better at handling him being gone after this.
Placid looked Mihari in the eyes and smiled. "I may not be here physacly but," he said taking her hand and kissing her. "Ill be with you in your heart and soul... Mihari..." he stepped back and looked at everyone and smiled. Tori and him walked towards one another and clintched their fists. Tori and him got smug looks of detirmination on their faces and Tori spoke withh a bit of excitement.
"Ok, lets make this last sparring match a real one. Show me what you got!" he shouted forming a blade in their hands each. Placid and him both dashed forward and locked blades. The both were smiling, "Show you what I got? You can't handle what I got!" Placid shouted as they clashed again. Mio and Kibiko cheered for old times sake. Mio sat and watched and thought to herself something she would hold dear to her for another few years. As she thought her eyes teared up with the striking of the blades. After the thought passed she continued to cheer with Kibiko.
'They fight for fun, ignoring pain. They do it to prepare for us, for their family. For the ones they hold closer than anyone in this world... I love you both...'

Mihari sat quietly and watched as everyone cheered and smiled around her, but she looked sad again. Not as bad as before, but still. Then the sadness changed to slight irritation. She talked to herself quietly. "Gave me hope? Hope for what exactly? I'm no closer to understanding anything then I was before, and yet again, I'm left to sit and watch as I lose the most important thing in the world to me..." then she turned, looking away from the group as watching them had started making her slightly angry. But she sighed. She knew closing herself off from the world wouldn't solve anything, it would only make everyone else upset. She didn't want to be a burden on anyone else anymore, so she would live on. She would take care of the twins, though she knew doing it alone would be difficult. She smiled to herself, in spite of everything going on in her head, and a tear fell down her cheek.
Nuriko raised her eyebrow as she looked at Tori. She heard what Mihari had said and knew she was upset. She shook her head. She walked over to Mihari, resting on a tree next to her. "I'm sorry, men can be a little insensitive sometimes. But seeing as nobody else has thought to explain this to you..." she closed her eyes, shaking her head again as she smirked. "I don't think this is meant to be permanent..."

Tori had looked over at the group. Kibiko and Mio looked upset. Kibiko looked more angry than anything. "All you two do is fight!" She yelled grabbing Placid by the arm. She drug him to Mihari and forced him to sit.
"Spebd what time you have left with her you moron!" She said walking off giving Tori a dirty look. He had a scarred face almost, but, he was more afraod of Nuriko than anyone. Why? She was his fiance after all.
Placid was a bit amused at her behavior. She had grown fond of him to a point that ordering him seemed fitting. He looked at Mihari and smiled then realized that he had explained nothing. Nothing about why things are the way they are. He took her hand and sighed.
"This won't be permanent..." He said closing his crimson eyes. "They just want to ensure your planets safety, once they can garuntee I am not a time bomb theyvwill let me come back." He said it giving her a saddened look, almost as if he seemed sorry for himself. "I never wanted this but, if it keeps you and our twins safe... I want tovmake it happen."
Belmonte stood away from the group, listening to all of the 'sad-talk' gappening around him. It made him mad to apoint were it made him run off. He just kept running and running until he hit a nearby cliff, it showed off the ocean and the starlight sparkling on the clear water. He collapsed to his knees and looked down, he knew Placid was his friend. But, just like all his friends, he is going to lose them. One by one they will vanish and he will be left alone like always.
"Everyone is the same..."

Nuriko noticed Hana fussing, reaching out toward the forest just as Belmonte left. She sighed, smiling slightly as she took the child and followed him. She thought about things that had been going on as she walked through the forest. She smelled the salt in the air, and realized where they were going. They came out of the forest at the cliff she most often came to to think. She smiled as she looked over the water, the reflection of the moon shimmering off the water.
"You shouldn't worry her like that..." she said, referring to the child in her arm who was gazing intently at Belmonte. "She has more personality than most adults I know, and probably knows more than even she lets on. And It's kinda obvious that she cares about you alot." Nuriko sat next to him, still holding Hana.
Mihari raised her hand to his cheek, gazing at him intently. She always loved looking into his eyes, which was surprising to her. She never really liked red until he came along. "To be honest, I never cared much for the world, never had a reason to until recently. But... "she sighed a little, then smiled, thinking about the twins back home. "As long as you are coming back, I suppose I can wait. You still have to marry me damn it." she smirked to him a little, a bit of her normal glint coming back to her purple eyes. "Will I at least be able to see you once in a while? I'd like to think the kids would like to see you occasionally." she grasped onto Placids hands.

Placid smiled at Mihari's remark and agreed to her order. "But of course..." He said listening to her following question. Grand stood back and sighed. He closed his eyes and folded his arms, "That may be improbable. The only way a human can acend is through death. So, the only ones allowed to traverse to visit would be Nuriko and Torimichu. Im sorry miss..." He felt ashamed to have said it. He looked away as if he was at fault.
Placid lowered his head. "Well, thats..." He started speaking before looking up with tears in his eyes, "thats just my luck..." He looked at Mihari with a bit of pain. "What do we do Grand...?" He asked as Grand turned to them.
"The only thing you can do is communicate here at the Falls. Other that it is impossible with the exceptions of his visits to Earth." He said it placing his hands on their shoulders. "I am sorry for the bad news but, at least you can see one another. That's what counts..."
He said it with disdain and then removed himself. Tori stood to the side quietly, unsure what to say himself.
---------
Belmonte looked at Hana and still frowned. "That may be... But, what about all of you....? How do I know you all aren't just going to leave too? I know how things work. I have been decevied enough to know better... Trust nobody and expect nothing right?" He sat holding his knees. Hoping words of grace came from Nuriko. He sat thinking about the song Placid played for them, he started tearing up at the thought of the music. The song was one that cleansed the soul. One that made him feel purified in his heart. Something about it made him stop breathing and he held his breath. He could feel his heart beating. A feeling he hasn't felt in mellinia.
"What... Whats this...?"

Mihari shook her head. "I wasn't expecting to go see him there. I was referring to him coming here once in a while, even if it's only as far as angel falls. I can bring the children here, that doesn't bother me. I know I can't go there." she smiled, gripping Placid's hand tighter.
Nuriko smiled, sitting back a little. "I am immortal, for the most part. If I die, it will be a long time from now, and even then it will take alot to get rid of me. I have been alive for over 7000 years. 5000 of them, I have spent here. Sure I may go on journey's occasionally, but most of those were me hiding from the people who were chasing me. With me being free, I see no reason to leave. Placid is the same. He is an angel, so he is as close to immortal as I am. Mihari... "she hesitated a little as she thought about it. "Technically, she is still mortal. So she will die one day. not any time soon, as she was technically blessed by an angel of death, so her lifespan has been extended about 100 years, but she will die one day. Those who we spend time with, they are human. They're life span will be lucky to pass 70 years, but that is unavoidable. That is the curse of being an immortal. we will outlive most of the people around us. They will age. The world around us changes. But we remain the same." she watched him for a second. then she smiled again. "The song... It's a song of purification and release. It calms people. Maybe you've been given another chance to live your life?"
Nuriko smiled, looking down at Hana, who was smiling and reaching her arms out to Belmonte. "Maybe if this will make you feel better, you may lose people around you, but I think Hana will always be there. You two seem to have a bond. Maybe it was fate, maybe it was her choice. Nobody yet knows. But she is as immortal as I am. She will always be here."
