Tori was still breathing a bit hard. "He keeps getting bigger and bigger and I can't fight..." for the first time, Tori felt useless. He sat there and watched as the being known as Ragnarok thrashed at Mikael. He dodged each attack barely, stumbling all over the place. Mikael grunted as he mistepped letting Ragnarok slam his claws into him. He sunk a claw in and twisted.
"Nggh! GAH!" Mikael screamed as he pulled away. THe wound was severely deep and he went to his knees. " Dammit...!" he shouted landing near the group. As he landed, he looked at Tori and shook his head, "You're pathetic... You lose sight of what your fighting for and then you turn frail. How pathetic..." he said looking at Nuriko, though he aimed the comment at Tori. He looked at his sister and nodded, "He is a pathetic man... But, now..." he looked back at Ragnarok, who made a odd majestic noise. It roared and it sounded more like the call of a machine, it echoed throughout the area. Nocturne laughed as his body, Ragnarok, idled.
"You creatures make me laugh. You fight, yet, have no chance to live on. You protect the weak, yet, fail at protecting yourselves. You aren't heros, you are FAILURES!" he roared slamming Mikael into the barrier Mihari has set up for Tori.
"I... can't move on... This is to much..."

Nuriko sighed, only thinking of one last thing she could do, but she had no idea if it would actually work. She concentrated, kneeling in front of Tori. She grabbed his hands, looking into his eyes. "I don't know if this will work, but at this point, I see no other option. I was supposed to pass my powers down before I was exiled anyways, so this would be a bit late." she said, giggling slightly in spite of herself. She looked around her, to the shield which Mihari was concentrating on keeping up; to her brother, who was slouched outside the barrier. Then back to Tori, who was sitting in front of her, still partially breathless. "Torimichu Liwa." she tightened her grip on his hands, gazing at him, her voice low. "I pass to you all I know and all I possess. My knowledge and powers of a grim reaper are now yours, along with he who comes with it. Accept them now." As she finished the incantation, all her abilities, and the harbinger Thanatos, passed from Nuriko's body to Tori's, almost instantly. Nuriko sighed. "Let's hope he can handle this... and that Thanatos and Parshath will get along ok."

As her chanted ended, Tori grunted. "That power... Its..." his eye dilated and soon all sound around him softened. His vision then blurred and before he knew what hit him, he went unconscious. When he awoke he was in a large stone room. The room itself looked castle-like in appearance as well its windows were in the form of pane art, similar to those found in a cathedral.
The room was long, almost matching that of a large hallway. however at one end was a blank stone wall, which is where Tori awoke, the other side held two beings of White and Black. Each stared at one another until butting heads. They each had also blocked an attack from the other. Tori quickly picked himself up and ran towards them. The beings were no shock to him. One was Black as shadows, lines rolled over the body in a computer like state and glew a deep purple. Its face was metallic, almost robotic. It had no eyes nor nose or mouth. In there place was a plate that covered it. On it were three lines where the eyes and nose would be, all glowing that same purple glow. It appeared to have wings as well. But, they grew from the shoulder blades then down. They arched at the bottom then unfolded into a dark form of metallic wings.
The other was almost an exact replica of the Black being. But, it was white, and glowed blue. It was almost the same but its wings were in an angelic form, sticking from the back then going upwards into a beautiful unfolding of metallic, yet holy, wings.
"Thanatos! Parshath! Stop, please you have to listen!" Tori shouted as the two broke their hold on one another. Parshath quickly parried an attack that came from Thanatos and straight kicked him back into the nearby wall. A blue fiery energy slammed into Parshath from the dust of the previous infliction of damage. They both were so powerful, yet, evenly matched.
Attack after attack, they couldn't best the other. Each one made advances, then was quickly pushed back. Tori watched in confusion as the two beings destroyed everything they landed against.
"Why were they so dead set on fighting one another?" Tori muttered to himself, he remembered something Ariel had once said to him not to long ago, "Harbingers are almost like animals, if another impedes on the first territory, both become hostile and fight over the territory..."
He thought to himself before looking up, " I thought she meant actual land! Not a body or soul! They are fighting over the position of Harbinger over me!" He shouted, the two dashed at one another as he said it. He breathed in and screamed as loud as he could, "Stop!"
The two stopped and kneeled, ignoring one another as they awaited Tori's orders. He breathed a sigh of relief. He looked at Parshath and then at Thanatos and became a bit worried. "Nocturne has been released and only you can stop him!" He said in a bit of a rush. The two Harbingers stood and looked at one another. They each grabbed each other's right hand and stood, confident. They looked like they were fixing to arm wrestle, Tori looked confused as the two then glew and grew. The light stunned Tori as both Harbingers screeched as loud as possible. Tori listened as the noise became words to him, "What? Your merging? Into what?!"
The light then exploded and Tori jumped up and held his chest. "Son of a bitch!" He shouted laying down again. He stood up and shook off his injuries, he pointed at Mikael.
"I can't kill him but, only with your help. I need your powers Mikael!" He said becoming very serious. As he said it Mikael scoffed, "You dare make such a demand?!"
He dashed at Ragnarok only to be blasted by a field of Dark Matter. "Puny boy, your efforts are for nothing, you can all attack me in droves and nothing can pierce me! You have lost, nothing you do will change anything!" Nocturne shouted as he crept closer to the group.
Tori shouted again at Mikael, "You idiot! You can have my soul! Not fight at all! Just let me have this or everyone we love will die! Including Nuriko! If you won't do this for me than do it for your sister! Do it for niece!" He shouted almost in tears. Mikael rose with his head down. He walked to Tori and stood with his face down. "This is a deal... I do this, you give up to me once its over. Deal?" He said not sounding to confident in the decision. "Yeah, deal." He said cutting his hand and Mikael doing the same. "Power bestowed, to those who face to dark beings from the Pit." He placed to fingers on Tori's forehead and spoke again.
"Now, accept these abilities and I grant you power."
Tori was then surrounded by grey aura. It shined and gleamed like polished silver, it then diminished as quickly as it appeared. Ragnarok roared and pulled an arm back and flew it forward and Tori caught it with one hand. His face was serious and him and Mikael nodded. He threw Ragnarok's fist aside and gleamed. "Now! Come forth..." he stated as another silver aura glowed, "Diega, deity of Death!"
The area shook and a being formed as small as a two story home. It was silver and its markings were glowing a crimson color. "Nocturne, your crimes against mankind and heaven deem you a wanted man! You are hereby sentenced to death!" as he shouted large blades came from his forearms and into his hands. Nocturne roared, "How was this possible?! Your forms are to unstable! My energy was enough to imbalance any Holy signatures in you!"
Tori dashed forward and removed an arm off Ragnarok. "My new form isn't one hundred percent Holy!" he lopped off a leg until Ragnarok showed Placid once more. "This form is built on the darkness of the soul! The darkness of all misdeeds done by her... But, it will be cleansed to deal one last move!"
He rose his arms into the air until the blades shined into a different form, they connected and formed into an axe. That being said, it was a fitting form for it, an Executioner's Axe. "You will return Placid to us!" he shouted slicing him down the middle. Ragnarok screeched and roared as Nocturne roared and cursed. Placid formed from the tar and Tori quickly moved him to the reach of Nuriko. Nocturne came from the Tar as well, he looked like Placid, but, with Black hair and Azure Blue eyes. His face looked scary, all aspectis of his face showed true anger with confusion.
"You will not have me! I won't let you kill me!" he shouted as Tori slammed the axe into him. He laid there, eyes closed. He was bleeding out badly. But, as his blood bled, it was as black and tarnished as his soul. "I... lost...?" he said looking at Mihari and Placid he smiled and started to harden into black stone, "Farewell... Placid.... Hehehe...." he said turning into purest of black, smooth, stone. He crumbled into a black ash, and the only thing left was the echos of the dust spading to the ground. Tori kneeled down and eyed the pile of dirt and his wings formed large and wide.
"It's... over..."

Nuriko was hardly suprised when Mihari beat her to Placid. She watched her, smiling sadly as Mihari held Placid close to her, crying. Nuriko stood up, slowly walking over to Tori and sighing. She was tired. Holding the timelock up for that long was very draining on her. Though she felt safe enough to release it once Nocturne was gone. Her eyes now sat back at its normal midnight blue. She leaned against Tori, feeling kind of light headed before collapsing on the ground. She was still sitting up ok, just couldn't stand, and was feeling dizzy. "Well... that was tiring. No more doing that, hopefully."
Mihari knew she should be happy. She had her placid back, Nocturne was gone, everyone was safe now. But she couldn't stop crying. He went through so much. How much of his sanity was still in tact. Would he remember her when he woke up? It was the little what-if's that scared her the most. Though she was happy that she was able to get him back in the first place. She held him close to her, kissing his forehead as she tried to stop crying.

Several hours had passed since the incident and Placid was still out like a burned out lightbulb. Tori sat with him whole time as the rest of them sulked in the other room, everyone except Mihari who had stayed with them the whole time as well. After awhile, Tori left the room and closed the door. He leaned against it and sighed. Tori was the only one feeling bad about other things. He was now not just a single entity of good, but also the embodiment of Death itself. He looked at his hands and shivered a bit. The amount of power Thanatos threw out was amazing... Mixed with Parshath's abilities, they were unstoppable.
"Well, that was... Fun." he said slumping against the wall, hoping nobody heard him. THe living room was minorly silent as Belmonte played with Hana. Kibiko and Mio were silent as was Tori at this point. Mio looked down and stood leaving the room. She made her way to the back courtyard and felt alive. The atmosphere changed with the removal of Nocturne from this world. She felt relieved knowing he was gone and smiled, "Maybe now we can all be at peace..." she said as s small gust of wind revealed Ariel and Ferrah next to her. "You do have it correct though..." Ariel said sitting down on the cold stone fountain, Ferrah stood silent and half asleep.
"Our brother saved humanity..."
-------------12 Hours Later-------------------------
Placids eyes opened and showed a misted red color. His eyes lost their color a bit and were a lighter tone of red than before. He shivered as he had heard something he hadn't heard in millenia, silence. He held his head and smiled, "It's gone... That bastards... Gone..." he said shaking his head to wake himself up. He looked around, his vision was a bit blurred from being asleep for so long. The room was a bit dark, only thing lit was a small lantern to not make it to much a nuisance to him when he awoke.
He noticed Mihari and smiled, "It's over right?" He said it more as a moronic question, he knew the answer was what they all knew. He placed his and on her cheek and smiled. "Everything is back to the way we want it... Just me and you." He kissed her and sat there making sure she knew that he loved her. After it ended the color in his eyes gradually came back. After it did, his eyesight cleared and the dizziness went away. He stood up slowly and collapsed onto the bed and chuckled, "I am still a bit weak I guess..." he said trying again and stopping as he made balance on the cold floor. After stabalizing himself he made his way to the door and held out his hand to Mihari. "Help me? I have no idea what to say to them..." he said thinking about it for a moment. He already knew what to say, he just wanted her by his side. He then walked out the door and directly in front of him was the living room, everyone stared as he entered the room. Silent, he looked at Tori and grabbed him and held him close. "You damn moron..." he said tearing up. He sobbed bright happy tears as Tori smiled and hugged him back. The room had an uproar of happiness as everyone surrounded them for a group hug. Placid smiled again and this time it didn't feel like it was a lie.
'You all... You all make this more worth while' he said as he was given the warmth of the rest and shed a tear.

Mihari watched over him for what felt like days, but was only roughly twelve hours. During this time Tori had come and gone, but she didn't really notice. She had stopped crying not too long after they had left the wreckage of the temple. She wondered if there was any point in living there anymore, with Nocturne gone, was there any reason to keep up with it anymore? She figured she would have time to figure that out later. For now, she wanted to make sure Placid was ok.
When he started waking up, she nearly started crying again. But she stayed where she was, sitting next to him, watching him carefully. She watched him as he sat up carefully, mumbling to himself about Nocturne being gone. When he turned to Mihari and asked if it was over, she smiled and nodded, tearing up slightly. She smiled even more, blushing slightly when he put his hand on her cheek and kissed her. It made her feel alot better, knowing that things were back the way they wanted it. She would be able to spend her time with him without worrying about Nocturne interfering or making things complicated anymore. She stayed by his side, holding his hand as he made his way to the door. She stayed by him, not only for physical support, but for emotional support. She tightened her grip on his hand for a split second, whispering "I'm here for you." before he opened the door.
She stood next to him, smiling as he looked around the room. After a few minutes, it became a mess of crying and hugging and laughing. She had separated herself from the rest and allowed him to spend a few minutes with his friends as she went to check on check on the kids. Jayden was sleeping on the floor not too far from where Hana was playing with Belmonte. Lillith was awake, and was giggling. She looked happier than Mihari had ever seen her. Mihari picked her up, wondering what made the child so happy. Had lillith been able to feel Nocturnes downfall as well? Or was the happiness in the atmosphere just passing over to the little girl. She walked back over to placid, lillith smiling and looking around at everyone. Her red eyes shone brightly as she looked between Mihari and the group surrounding Placid.

Placid took his little girl and held her close. She didn't seem to become agitated anymore when they locked eyes, he smiled softly at her and remembered something as he looked up at everyone. He remembered sd so much now that Nocturne was not there to block any memories of his abilities that were simple. He rememebred skills as playing the piano and even how to cook a bit. He remembered a palor on the second floor he led everyone to, as they followed Belmonte handed Hana to Tori and they all moved with him. A piano sat with sheet music on it already, what was odd is that it had lyrics as well. He viewed them all and smiled looking over everyone he looked at Nuriko. "May I ask for your help?" he said handing her the voice half of the work. "I could use a singer for this." he said giving Mihari the little one. "After 'his' leave, I regained talents I didn't even know I had." he sat down and opened the key tray in front of him. "I hope she is tuned..." he said pressing one key. The tone flew threw him and it felt like he was at peace once again. "He checked each one until he knew it was correctly tuned. He looked at everyone and smiled, "This is my gift to you all... Thank you for being there even when I wasn't allowed to even be there to watch you all save me..." He played the first note of the music and smiled, "Now, lets play the song of souls..." ((OOC: This is the song I had them 'find' on the piano: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJidGp6Dxkw))

Mihari smiled as Placid took his daughter and held her. She laughed as Lillith started playing with her fathers hair. She got kind of curious as she followed Placid upstairs with everyone else. They entered a room, which she assumed Nuriko used as a study of sorts. In the center of the room was a piano. It was a very beautiful piano, and it looked as if it had been very well taken care of.
Nuriko laughed. "That piano is probably the oldest remaining piano on this planet. It's a secret of mine as to how it's managed to stay in perfect condition all this time." she smiled, walking up to it. She was always very close to this piano, and used to play on it when nobody was home. But when Placid asked her to sing for him, she blushed a little. She hadn't sang in front of more than one person for thousands of years. But she smiled, nodding. Though she realized the reaction would be slightly different. When two angels play a song made in heaven, it really moves people. It's a song that brings peace, calms the heart and soul of those who listen. And so when he started playing, she sang for him. She was quite impressed by his piano playing. The fact that he remained this good after not playing for all that time was impressive. She hadn't felt like that since she used to sing in heaven. It made her feel young again, yet at the same time, made her realize how old she really was. She almost laughed, but she didn't want to ruin the song.

The song ended with Everyone clapping. Tori sat in the doorway with Hana and he smiled. "Piano huh...?" he said looking down at the sleeping child. Her mother had put her into a slumber with her voice. "Well well... Isn't that a surprise." he looked up at everyone who at this point were socializing with one another. Kibiko and Mio were with Nuriko swooning over the voice she let them all hear.
"that was amazing Nuri!" Kibiko said as Mio nodded in agreement. "It was really good, it was beautiful..." trying not to blush during her praise to Nuriko. Belmonte sat next to Placid as Placid explained how to play. Belmonte paid close attention as he Placid showed him the ropes. Mio left everyone and met up and headed back downstairs, as she passed Tori she smiled. She felt great. Everyone was simply happy now that Nocturne was gone. Once she made her way downstairs Evian and the others stood in a group in the living room mumbling about something.
"What? When does that happen?" "No no... that can't be right..." "It has to be, she is the child of the Eighth..." "Are you sure? I mean how can we tell she has that ability?" "Shh, someones coming..."
Mio walked in and tried not to look guilty about listening in on them, "Would you guys like to join us upstairs? We are kinda having a bit of fun and I am sure your brother would like for his sisters and brothers to join him and your nei-" she was cut off by Ariel placing a hand on her shoulder.
"Im afraid we can't stay, the house is kind of... Kicking us out in a way. Do tell everyone that we apologize for leaving so abruptly. We also must find our peace for...." she looked away as the rest looked down in shame. "Azazel died... Our brother past and we just need some time to cope with it... We are sorry but thank you Mio for your kindness." with that a breeze of wind flew through and they all were gone. Mio stood looking a bit saddened, she had forgotten that Azazel was killed. In that matter Mikael had left without even saying anything to anyone.
She sighed, she felt bad for them. Losing someone you love regardless of how evil or good they truely are is just, wrong. She sighed as she moved to the nearby window and looked up, "I miss you... Mom..." she said going back upstairs and watched as Belmonte started playing a few notes of the song Placid just played. He seemed a bit shake-y but overall fairly good at it. Tori sat in the doorway with Mio and watched them, "Seems he is inheriting the skills of a great pianist..." he said as Hana woke up. She looked over and saw Belmonte playing and she coo'ed. tori looked down and moved towards the group who were huddled around the piano. "someone wants to hear you play Belmonte." Tori said smiling, "She just woke up and saw you."
Tori chuckled as he noticed that Hana had such a fascination with Belmonte. It raised questions in him, 'How come?' and 'I wonder why' were both a few of the more common ones he pondered. But, he didn't ever have a problem with her liking him, he felt it was one of the things keeping Belmonte in tact. After playing a bit Belmonte looked up at Hana, she reached for him and he looked up at Tori, "May I...?" he said as she giggled. Tori nodded and handed her to him. "Hey there little one..." he said playing with her a bit. placid watched and played a soft tune on the piano as Kibiko sat nearby watching the group and smiled.
"Everything is going to be okay... From now on... This is my family... My home... My life..."

Mihari smiled, the crowded room starting to get to her a little. She looked at lillith, who was now asleep. She kissed Placid on the cheek softly, then left the room, walking back downstairs to the living room where Jayden was also asleep. She placed Lillith on the floor next to Jayden. Then she rested herself on the floor next to them, laying herself on the floor as she watched them sleep. She smiled, listening to the piano from the other room, and hearing all the happy voices. The downstairs other than her and the sleeping children was completely empty. Everyone was upstairs celebrating. She smiled, resting her head on her arm as she watched over the children. She smiled as Lillith closed her hand around one of Mihari's fingers. She grinned, taking in the childs features. She had her fathers eyes, and almost had her fathers hair, it was just a slightly darker shade. She smiled. "You are gonna look just like your father." Jayden on the other hand, had his mothers eyes, but his hair hadn't started growing in enough to tell what color it would be yet. It made her curious.
Nuriko smiled, listening to all the praise she was getting. Though her mind was elsewhere. After everyone gave her a minute, she too left the room, but she went into the back yard. She followed the path into the back of her property where the statue was, holding her scythe. She sighed, feeling empty for the first time in thousands of years. She no longer had any need for her scythe. She was no longer a reaper, having passed her powers on to Tori. She stood there, looking over the statue as though looking at a reflection of herself. The part of herself that she lost. She thought of Thanatos, though he no longer existed as such. The moment he fused with Parshath, he wasn't really her Thanatos anymore. Though she was happy about it all being over, she had lived the life of guardian of the seal for so long that she felt like something was missing. And she knew it would take her a long time to get used to.

After looking at the girl, Placid stood and left the room and joined Mihari downstairs. He sat next to her on the floor and sighed happily, he knew that having Nocturne gone would make life better. Lilth and Jayden would grow up with a father while Mihari with a husband. He closed his eyes, when he felt the warmth of Mihari being close and he leaned her on him and drifted to sleep.
Tori went outside and bundled Hana up. Her hair had started growing at a decent rate, her hair was black like her mothers. He smiled and kissed her forehead, "Your going to look.lije your mom when you grow older aren't you...?"
He stood next to Nuriko and watched her for a bit then sat down. "She looks like you you know...?" He said smiling at the girl who was giggling. He held her close and breathed clear a sigh of happiness.
"Shes cute like her mama..."

Mihari smiled, cuddling up next to Placid as he sat next to her. She felt at peace for the first time in quite a while. She reached over, grabbing Placid's hand quietly, not saying anything, just watching the children sleep. She remembered not too long ago when Placid had asked her to marry him, blushing a little as she thought about it. Sometimes she wondered what had made him ask her to marry him, knowing what was going on. Did he know he was going to survive it all? She turned her head a little, watching him.
Nuriko was lost in thought when Tori came up, so when she heard him, it startled her, making her jump a little. She looked between Tori and the child before looking back at the statue. She smiled, resting her head on Tori's shoulder. "I suppose it will take some getting used to... but I kinda miss it." She reached for her scythe a little, almost touching it before pulling her hand away. She stepped away from it, shaking her head.

Placid had drifted into a light sleep. His mind wouldn't project dreams the same as it was for the others. The images were very fuzzy and at times it seemed his ability to hear anything was muffled. He saw a town forming and people running away from the area. The time period felt raw and simplistic; Old, ancient even. The people ran and screamed about 'He Who Brings The Night'. Placid stood as this dream was a memory, a memory of what happened once that soul had been retrieved.
He watched, surely dissapointed about what came of most of the people. Fires spread, soon after through the smoke he saw large Azure eyes. He looked then was shaken awake.
"He still haunts me... Even after death..." He said smiling. "At least it won't happen again. That much keeps me sane..."
-------
Tori took Nuriko's hand and led her inside. From there he placed her in the living room and placed Hana between them. She slept as the warmth of the nearby fire warmed them. Tori watched as the fire cracked and swooned.
"It almost feels... To good to be true doesn't it?" He said closing his eyes. He too drifted off to sleep, Hana had managed to snuggle close to him as well. They slept with one another as a pup to its mum, Belmonte had come in and noticed and walked out smiling.
"Sleep tight little one..."

Mihari was starting to doze off when she was shaken awake by Placid. He didn't seem to do it on purpose, more like he had woken from a bad dream. She held onto his hand, resting her head on his shoulder again. "He was a big part of you for a long time, and he had a very large effect on not only you, but those around you. It's going to take some time for you to fully recover from something like that." She sighed, then wrapped her arms around him, brushing her nose against his. "I'm here for you, though. No matter what. Until you no longer want me." She spoke lightly, her nose still barely touching his. She gazed into his eyes, blushing a little before kissing him lightly.
Nuriko smiled, allowing Tori to guide her inside. She sat with Hana snuggled up between her and Tori. Hana was asleep at the moment, and Tori seemed content. "It does seem like a very good dream. " She smiled as it seemed to her that Tori had fallen asleep as well. She watched over the two sleeping there for a bit, enjoying the calm quiet of the room and the warmth that the fire put off. She closed her eyes, remaining quiet and feeling peaceful. She had heard Belmonte walk in and out, but said nothing. She smiled and looked back at Tori, watching him lovingly.

Placid looked at her and smiled, "You say that like it will be a choice..." He said it and slumped a bit and sighed. "I would never discard you like trash..." He said taking her hand. He felt a bit different, somehow scared.
"So many things have changed now that he is gone... But... I feel like the sins that he caused are still here." He said it and slipped further down. His breaths became slower and his eyes drew heavy. "Some things cannot be avoided..." His grip became loose and his arm fell.
"There is something that I cannot avoid... Any longer..." An eye teared up and it fell. "I cannot exist in this world... Not anymore. My time here was because of the wieght I had on my shoulders..." He moved his head and his empty eyes looked into hers.
"Its gone now... I now... Can be at peace...
---------
Tori opened his eyes and a teared rolled down his face, he placed Hana in Nuriko's arms. He stood up and sniffed and hid his face. He could feel the pressence of a transition. A transition of body, soul, and passing. Tori looked up and smiled, tears falling in sync.
"It's time..."
