Nuriko smiled, taking the chain with the ring and fastening it around her neck. She smiled, looking at the ring before looking at Tori. she held his hand tightly for a moment, then turned around and started walking toward the beach.
She didn't walk very fast, she was still rather weak from before. She moved very slowly, emerging from the trees and walking onto the beach to see the brothers not too far down the beach. She smiled. She understood now why she had such an urge to care and protect Kaiden. It brought back old memories, of when she was young. She sighed, turning away a little and walking toward the water. She stood at the edge of the water, letting the waves lap at her feet. She started singing a song to herself. It was a song she used to sing to Kaiden when they were young. He was very fond of it, and it was one of the reasons they became friends in the first place. She had all but forgotten about it, having not sang it for thousands of years. It nearly brought her to tears. She kneeled in the water, using the waves to wash some of the mud off her arms and face.

Placid sat in the sand breathing heavily and Kaiden laid there eyes half shut. "I-I... I can't feel my arms..." he said as Placid smiled, "That's because you got a work out... As did I..." he said laying back. The song Nuriko started to sing made Kaiden sit up; He listened to it closely, unable to pinpoint where he had heard it before. He watched Nuriko and listened to it for a while then he looked at Placid confused.
"Brother... I... I recognize that song..." he said closing his eyes then he began to cough violently. Coughing up a black, sludge-like substance. Placid looked at it and Kaiden stopped hacking. He looked at the sludge and sighed. He face was saddened by the excretion, almost like he knew what was wrong with him. Placid moved to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Whats happening...?" he asked and Kaiden looked at him and sighed looking rather weak. The boys stayed quiet and Kaiden shook his head. A tear rolling down his face, into the sludge.
"I am going into Soul Collapse... I am dying..." he said looking back at Placid smiling. "I have been split from my other half for too long... to add that in with the fact he corrupted me... I don't have to much time left unless I went back to him." he said Placid looking at the sludge and sighing, looking down, as if defeated. "there has got to be a wa-..." he began to say as Kaiden cut him off, "There isn't. Nothing that would keep me here with you all. I would have to go back to the rest of my soul for that..." he said as Placid began to tear up. "No... There has to be another way!" he said looking at him in the azure eye's he grew up with. Kaiden smiled and hugged him, trying to keep him calm.
"Brother... There isn't... But, I won't leave any of you yet. Not until the time is right and I do what needs to be done. I promise you that..." he said as Tori watched and listened from a distance. His face turned for the worse and he sighed walking to Nuriko's side. Another set of tears came over the group, these ones, for Kaiden as well.
"I... What... What do we do now...?

Nuriko sighed, looking toward the two brothers. She grabbed Tori's hand and led him with her to sit at the beach next to the others. She sighed, looking rather sad.
"I need to tell you guys a story. Thousands of years ago, there was a young woman. She was talented beyond measure, there wasn't anything she did that she didn't do better than most professionals. But she was a particularly gifted singer. That was how she met one of her closest and dearest friends. Childhood sweethearts, you could say. They spent quite a bit of time together. Had fallen for eachother greatly. He was her very first love. Her first kiss. But... alot of the wrong things happened around the same time. He had alot of difficulties in life, people thought he was a troubled child, to say the least. Had alot of jealousy issues of his younger brother. On top of that, the girl's mother had found out about the two. Her mother was a very judgemental woman, and found him to be a bad influence, as well as she didn't like his family at all." Nuriko sighed, looking at the ground, tears forming in her eyes.
"When he snapped, and had to be sealed away, her mother insisted that she be one of the leading angels to do the sealing. She was made to not only watch, but be one of the angels to keep him sealed. Ironic. The young woman ended up the guardian of the seal. She kept watch over it for thousands of years. But that was one of the most painful memories of her existance. She often found herself crying in front of the seal for a few years afterwards. In secret though. She could only imagine the ridicule she would have gotten if they would have found out the guardian of the seal was in love with him." she sighed, looking around the group.
"She moved on, in a way. It took her a little while. Made some new friends, got into lots of trouble. Ended up on the run for nearly five thousand years. Never quite forgot. She couldn't. She wanted to keep believing that he could be saved, but the longer she had to think about everything that had happened. The memories replaying in her head. But... " she shook her head. "It did more damage than that. She had convinced herself that it was all her fault. She obviously didn't pay enough attention to him. Maybe she missed something. She should have known how far gone he was. But because she didn't..." she lowered her head, tears falling down her cheeks.
"When he turned up in front of our house, playing with Hana, I stuck up for him. Protected him. I said it was due to Hana's reaction to him, but..." Nuriko shook her head. "That was only part of the reason. His eyes..." she sighed, finding it hard to look anyone in the eyes, and stared at the sand instead. "Something about them caused a part of my heart I had nearly forgotten about to ache. Even after Placid and Tori both dissapeared, I watched over the children... and him. Never quite understood until now why I felt so protective of him. Seeing him earlier, it reminded me of the song I used to sing for him when we were children." she smiled a little.
"But... alot of people wondered why I never liked the idea of confronting Nocturne. That's why. As much as I understand why it would need to be done. I'm very good at putting on a strong face these days. But... It's still hard for me." Nuriko hid her face in her arms. "There's something that is said about people. No matter what happens in life, people always have a small secret spot in their heart reserved for their first love. Even if they end up not working out, separating, living a life without ever seeing them again... It's still there..." Nuriko was flat out crying at this point, tears pouring down her cheeks.
"I... don't know anymore. I've tried... so hard... to keep everything together. To protect the people I care about. I didn't want to lose anyone else. But... I just can't." Nuriko stood up, crying as she took off running down the beach. She didn't get very far, as she seemed to have forgotten that she still didn't have much strength left. She collapsed onto her knees, crying into her hands.

Tori started to get up after her before Placid stopped him. Kaiden got up and walked to Nuriko, hugging her from behind. The moment he touched her the memories of that day, hearing her scream for him, while he was locked away within his own mind. His eyes began to tear up and he held her tighter.
"That song... I remember now... where I heard it from..."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Nuri?! NURI?!"
"QUIET! There is nobody here for you to scream to! You are mine! Sit back and enjoy the show!"
The town was in flames as heated stone fell from swirling skies above. Peoples corpses laid in the the stone paths that made makeshift roads. The Angels sat, looking in awe at the beast as it towered over them, its stripped wings casts past the moonlight. Its roars rang through the skies as the Angels hid in cover trying to figure out what to do. They all looked to the skies, hoping an answer would come to them. However, it was vacant. They had lost hope, nothing was left but demise. Then, as the beast had reared back for a final blow, the skies lit up to see a girl, no older looking than 16. She held the arched blade of a grim. There she floated, not afraid of the beast in front of her. The Angels all watched in awe as she stayed motionless in front of him.
"What have you become...?"
"I have become many things. You must be more specific than that whelp..."
"You... You're not Kaiden."
"I am. I am what is left of Kaiden. I am Kaiden."
"No... You are a monster..."
"I am eternal...! You will know true fear as I crush you into dust!"
"...YOU ARE NOT HIM!"
"..."
"This isn't him! He was a sweet boy! This isn't what he would do! Kill all of these innocents and hurt his own people!"
"Hahaha! You are pathetic! I AM KAIDEN!"
"No... You are NOT!"
"FATHER! See what I have become?! ARE YOU NOT PROUD?!"
"Stop this!"
"ENOUGH OUT OF YOU!"
The beast opened its jaws, it mouth glowing a shroud of dark blue energy, which emitted small gasses of purple. The beings eyes were blue, shining brightly as Kaiden's had before. Then, as the being roared and released his attack, Kaiden screamed from inside his own cage.
"NURI! NO!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The scream he remembered broke him from the small trance Kaiden was in and he let go of Nuriko. "I-I... I remember now..." he said breaking down into tears and he began to shake. He had forgotten everything about that day, including her.
"What did I do...!?" he began as he began to hack again, coughing up more sludge. Then, everything went dizzy. He collapsed and his eyes teared up as he began to hack more and more.
"I... I'm sorry..."

Nuriko had calmed her crying, watching Kaiden. As he collapsed, she caught him, holding him in her arms as he was coughing up sludge. She cried more, but for a different reason.
"Oh Kaiden... you have nothing to be sorry about. That wasn't MY kaiden that did all those nasty things. I knew in my heart he wouldn't have done them..." she rested her head on his, still holding him close. She didn't care at this point if he was coughing up sludge all over her, her arms and legs were still partially covered in it from escaping from Thanatos and Nocturne. She tried calming him by running her hands over his head softly.
"I need you to stay with me for just a little while longer. There's so much we still need to do... " she smiled. "You can last a little longer... You're mother has been without half her soul for thousands of years, and I know your strong enough to fight corruption. Use my strength if you need to, I won't even make you go back to my house if it will help... just please..." she cried again, her face buried in his hair. "There's so much I haven't been able to tell you... I missed your concert, I was going to ask you guys to play for me when I got home. I need your help explaining everything to Hana. The poor girl is already confused enough housing half of your mothers soul... Plus you still need to meet your baby sister! There's so much you can still do... I need you to be strong for me!!" she continued crying into his hair, holding him close to her.

Ath this point, Kaiden began to wheeze, as if he was fighting for air. "There isn't anything you can do for this. No power left for me to take..." he sat up covered in that sludge and tears ran down his face. "Knowing you wanted to see us play... That you even wanted me around anymore... Was enough of a blessing to me..." he said as he hacked another blot of sludge into the sand. It became thicker and it started to make him dizzy. "My mother...? Hana...? I... I can't die here... I'm not going to die... Not... ye-..." he began as he froze. He sat there as the waves pelted back and forth. Placid sat with the two and Tori standing close behind. Placid looked Kaiden in the eyes, seeing the inch of life in him. "Kai...?" he said as the boy sat still.
"Kaiden...?"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Kaiden...? Kai....den....? Kai....n? K....?"
The sound of Placid's voice became muffled then silent as Kaiden opened his eyes to see the new area he arrived in. The area was dark as the boy stood in a center pillar of light. The sound of sludge covering the area flowed through his ears, a set of blue eyes in the distant, like potted flames.
"You... are still here in me..."
"Yes... I never left."
"You are causing this? The Soul Collapse?"
"No... I am increasing the speed of it..."
"For what purpose? I am no threat to you any more..."
"We all have our reasons for the things we do. Mine may be more for recreational purposes than others..."
"You are killing me just because you want to...?"
"Hehe... Perhaps..."
Kaiden stood at the pillars center and noticed the area of light becoming smaller. He looked around in worry as his last area of life became swallowed, then, he heard whines. Sharp, peircing whines that broke his fear. He looked up at the top of the pillar to see a metallic being soaring towards him and landing in the pillar. It towered over Kaiden and it stood with its back to him. It bent forward and it shrieked causing the sludge to clear a path around them, increasing the size of Kaidens pillar of light substantially. Kaiden stood in awe of the being, then managed to push out his words. "Who are you...?" he asked as the being stood normally. It turned to him and gazed at him with a solo eye. It's whines, calmed him.
"(I am a gift... The gift of extra time...)"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Tori stood behind Kaiden, removing his hand from the back of his head. He sat in the sand and huffed a huge breath of air. Placid looked at him then at Kaiden. He wasn't moving but, the sign of life was stronger than before by the number. "What did you do Tori?" he said looking at him with worry, "I gave him something... To help pave the way to a longer life..." he said smiling a little looking back at Kaiden. His eyes became sad, yet, proud.
"I gave him... A fighting chance..."

Nuriko sighed. She was relieved, and yet. She looked at Tori.
"I hope Parshath was ok with that. Generally they don't like being moved around like that for no good reason. Not that this wasn't a good reason... just... considering everything Parshath has been through lately..." she sighed, resting against Tori as she watched Kaiden, who was still out cold on the beach. "We need to figure out somewhere to put him for a while."
"I believe I may be of assistance..."
Nuriko looked up, then her eyes widened in shock as she stood up quickly. A man, tall, with medium length pitch black hair and bright red eyes was walking along the beach. He was wearing a very nice black suit. He seemed to be looking over the group calmly. Nuriko stammered.
"Da... I mean Sebastian... I mean Sir... I, uh..." then she bowed respectfully. "It is such an honor to see you here sir!" The man waved it off.
"Oh to hell with the formalities. I'm hiding, so no titles."
Nuriko nodded, then smiled.
"It's nice to see you. Haven't seen you in so long."
The man looked at her, watching her closely. Then he smiled warmly.
"It is nice to see you too, dear. And yes... I can't quite come around the house with all those people living there now, can I?" he laughed a little. Nuriko moved a little closer to him before turning back to Tori.
"Did we want to take him up on his offer and move Kaiden there?"

Tori blinked and shrugged, "I would assume so..." he stood helping Kaiden's semi conscious body up with Placid's assistance. "Its an honor to meet you finally... Sir." he said looking at Nuriko's father, "I don't think we have been properly introduced... My name is Torimichu Liwa... I am the son of Guardian General, Eiko Liwa. Also, son to Master Commander, Grand Liwa..." he said trying not to be nervous. He looked at Kaiden and then sighed, hoping Parshath was ok dealing with the Collapse. Placid looked him in the eye, recognizing him as clear as day. Knowing he and his wife hated his 'family'. He eyed him, slightly skeptical of his somewhat odd offer to them and his brother.
"Thank you sir... For helping us..."

Sebastian looked at Tori.
"Yes... I know your parents. And I have seen you around alot..." he turned and gazed at Placid, meeting his eyes. Nuriko watched as the two stared at eachother. It was slightly unnerving. Sebastian chuckled a little.
"Don't worry, boy. Her mother may be a cold-hearted psycho of a woman, but I actually supported Nuriko's relationship with your brother. While I may not have agreed with your father too often, I had no problem with your family in general. I was quite fond of your brother, which is part of the reason I am offering to help in the first place. That and I don't have to worry about you all telling anyone where I am..." Nuriko looked at her father.
"She's not..." Sebastian cut her off, shaking his head.
"No, your mother is not here. I actually haven't seen or talked to her in some time." Nuriko looked relieved as she walked slowly down the beach.
After walking for a few minutes, they came to a small house just off the beach. It was a nice little house, a bit bigger than Rei's little cottage, and much nicer. Sebastian let everyone in then gestured to the empty couch.
"If you don't want him on the couch theres a spare bedroom down the hall you can feel free to use."

Tori and Placid placed him in the spare room, Tori left Placid to his brother and he sat there. Never wanting to leave his side. When Tori returned to the living room, He was greatly relieved how understanding Nuriko's father was. Placid on the other hand, was still slightly skeptical. But, it was understandable being labeled as a freak for most of his life. Tori looked at Nuriko then at her father, "I have to say I am very honored to be in front of you sir..." he said saluting him, placing his fist to his chest, legs together and bowing. he stood up and sighed, "Although, it isn't the best of times to meet... well.. My fiance's father..." he said becoming highly nervous again. He walked toward the door and as he walked outside he turned back to Nuriko.
"Ill be out here if anyone needs me... Oh, and thank you for the hospitality Sir!"

Nuriko watched Tori walk outside, smiling and shaking her head. "So polite..." she chuckled a little before walking into the spare room. Placid was sitting next to the bed. She quietly crossed to the other side of the bed, sitting in a chair next to the bed Kaiden was in. She reached down and held his hand quietly. She found it ironic that one of the first times Placid and Nuriko had ever been remotely alone together and she didn't really know what to say to him.
"Over the last ten years, I was always curious as to why he was so fond of my music. Makes sense now, considering. Poor Hana..."

"Yeah... It was quite odd to hear about her infatuation with him..." he said sighing. He was aware that they were never alone before, yet, it didn't phase him. "The girl will be fine... Disappointed, even heart broken... But, she will survive." he said looking at the way she held his hand. He looked away and around the room, trying not to seems awkward. "You two were close? I wasn't really aware of how you two were since I was never around when you two seemed to be together..." he said looking at her and sitting to the side opposite of her. "I have to be honest, the boy has good taste in friends... More so with you." he smirked a little and he shut his eyes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tori stood looking out into the ocean, noticing a rain storm was coming close. The wind picked up as the sun shined bright as if the light was trying to make a final stand before the clouds knocked it out. He watched the water swaying from the wind, taking a breath of fresh seawater air. The beauty of it all was so unreal sometimes, being the way things have been. He was never to truly enjoy the beauty of the island, which a break from the crazy nature of the "Kill Nocturne" agenda was great once in a awhile. He walked back inside and looked around, a framed photo catching his eyes. He walked over to it, looking at it and smiled. On the back of the frame read, 'Tsukina Family - Sebastian, Alana, and Nuriko.' The photo showed Nuriko as a small child, no more than how a 10 year old would. He smiled at it and put the photo down, giving out a huff of comedic nature.
"Heh... How cute..."

Nuriko nodded, smiling a little. "I know she will. But it's not as suprising as it may seem. She grew up with him around. And she was always drawn to him, even as a child. I never understood why, but they were always together." She looked up at Placid, listening to him. "I can imagine. Kaiden didn't bring me around the family too often. Even as a child before the experiments and such I don't think your father ever liked me. I know for a fact that he was surprised I survived the process. But..." she smiled, gazing down at Kaiden again. "I suppose if you didn't know anything, you couldn't really say anything about it. I always wondered. I remember all the times he would come to me, frustrated about his father or something. I still find myself blaming myself for everything that happened sometimes..." she looked down at him sadly. "I spent alot of time with him, but I had never realized he was that angry."
-----------------------------------------------
Sebastian walked into the room to see Tori looking at a picture of Nuriko and the family when she was a child. He smiled a little.
"Mikael refused to take a picture with us. The only time you could ever get him to leave her side. Well, not the only time..." he said, looking toward Kaidens room. "He actually supported her and Kaidens relationship. He was truely happy for them. I sometimes wonder if that was one of the reasons he was so hateful toward you..." he looked at Tori. "How are you? You seem to be taking all this in rather well..."

"Well, we all have internal anger for some specific reason. His was... Just able to be tapped into by the wrong people..." Placid said looking rather sad, a rare look for him. "You shouldn't blame yourself for that. That wasn't your fault, Kaiden didn't know how to really get over things easily. Funny though, he seemed to share more with you than with me... Then again, I am not necessarily the easiest person to talk to..." he said looking at her raising an eyebrow with a a small smile on his face. "But, like I said, don't blame yourself. He made a mistake on his own accord. What's important is that you didn't give up on him..." he looked at her and took her hands and placed them in his and he held them, looking at her in the eyes.
"Remember, faith in one person makes a difference. Having faith in all changes worlds."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yeah, Mikael isn't to fond of me... or my life for that matter..." he said giving off a nervous chuckle. When Sebastian asked him how he was and mentioned his reactions to everything, Tori sighed. "Well, as anyone would be, it hurts knowing she loved someone else before me. But, that is just a part of love I suppose... As for everything else... I feel bad for him. I gave him Parshath, my Harbringer, to hold back the infection harassing him. Hopefully there will be something we can do to cure it and keep him with us. It would mean the world to Nuriko if he stayed..." he said looking towards the spare room. He thought about it for a moment and smiled.
"Who would've thought... A kid is making moves on my future wife before I did..."

Nuriko smiled sadly.
"My mother always said I was too gullible. Besides." she looked back down to kaiden and took his hand again. "I had faith in everyone but myself..." she sighed. All this reconnecting with the past was driving things up that she was afraid of. She sighed.
"What do you do when you are holding a secret that may have a very large effect on a few people around you, but you have no idea how to tell them and are afraid of how they will react to it?"
-------------------------------------------------------------
Sebastian sat on the couch, sighing.
"Alot of people think that Mikael that was the troubled child, but in all honesty, it is the other way around. Nuriko has taken so much upon herself, it's a wonder she is still sane. She is a fountain of secrets. Not all bad. Not all good. A few that she herself is afraid of. For many different reasons. People close to her don't always realize how much she goes through, because she is very good at putting a face on. The fact that she has allowed you to get this close to her means alot." Sebastian gazed at Tori, his red eyes scanning over him. "I trust you are taking good care of her?"
